North American based dairy equipment manufacturer BouMatic has entered into an agreement to acquire Danish company SAC, which produces both traditional and automatic milking systems.
The SAC brand and its products will live on post-close. Operating as a fully owned BouMatic subsidiary, the company’s nearly 100-strong dealer network (located mainly in Europe and Russia) will continue to sell and service SAC products.
“We are pleased to have entered into an agreement with BouMatic to continue the business,” comments SAC Group owner and third generation in the company Steen A. Christensen. “It has been important for me that the company was handed over to a new owner who wants to continue the business with the proud traditions and values on which the group is built, and which has been the foundation of the business since my grandfather started the company in 1938.”
General manager Carsten Nielsen of BouMatic Europe says the partnership brings unprecedented opportunities in line with the company’s strategy for global growth. “We will complement each other as well in many aspects, such as our product ranges and technological developments.”
With global headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, BouMatic continues to seek additional acquisitions to expand its footprint and enhance its product line-up.
