Trial production has started at the new US$56m-costing facility in Waluj, India. Production will be ramped up in phases to the plant’s maximum capacity of 30,000 tonnes of off-road tyres a year.

Located in the west of the country, the new plant, which will soon provide jobs for 500, will manufacture small and medium diameter tyres for farm and industrial machines.

The 9.0ha greenfield site is just 5km from the company’s existing and first ever production facility in Waluj, which was opened in 1987.
