West Sussex-based Bale Baron UK is the new importer/dealer for the Finnish made range of Agronic WR front rakes.

Succeeding former importer Henderson Agri Services, Bale Baron UK’s patch covers England, Wales and Scotland and Guernsey/Jersey. George Hamilton Machinery continues as the Finnish firm’s exclusive dealer for Northern Ireland.

There are three WR models. The WR 500 is for front mounting (linkage or loader) only, while the WR 600 Evo and WR700 can both be front or rear mounted. The coupling between tractor and windrower provides for flotation, and the rake rides on its own wheels during work.

Bale Baron has access to all three models, but so far the main interest in the UK is for the smallest WR 500 and mid-range WR 600 Evo models. The WR 600 Evo has larger rotors than the WR500 and double the number of tines for faster operation and increased output.

The rotors are hydraulically driven and the working width is hydraulically adjustable. Electric independent control of the rotors is standard on the WR 600 Evo and WR 700. Maximum working widths of the WR 500, WR600 Evo and WR 700 are 4.7m, 6.15m and 7.4m, respectively. Weights are 395kg, 860kg and 1.1t.

Agronic also makes slurry tankers, balers and the Rock Tornado 550 Stone Picker. The Finnish manufacturer perceives a good market for the latter in the UK due to the price and performance features. With a working width of 5.5m, there are currently no Rock Tornado 550s in the UK or Ireland but both Bale Baron UK and George Hamilton Machinery have access to it.

The machine uses an integrated central rotor to loosen stones near the surface. These are sieved and stored in the rear 2.0m³ capacity hopper, which empties to a height of 2.5m.

Working depth is down to 10cm and the machine can handle stones with a diameter up to 50cm. Empty weight is 4.9t and tractor power requirement is around 100hp. The standard tyre size is 500/60R22.5 (optional 600/50R22.5 and 710/45R22.5).

There will be an opportunity to see the WR rakes on the Bale Baron UK stand at Lamma in January 2025.
