The self-levelling cab is the main talking point on the latest version of the equal-wheeled 75hp SKH 60 from Swiss tractor maker Rigitrac.
Tilting to both left and right, the full technical details of how it works are under wraps, but we understand that the cab is supported on hydraulic cylinders.
Automatically compensating for side slope inclinations of up to 30%, the technique ensures that the driver always sits up straight. Other benefits of detaching the structure from the chassis include reduced in-cab noise and vibration levels.
Power comes from a 2.9-litre four-pot Stage V Deutz block (75-litre diesel tank) and the hydrostatic transmission provides two speed ranges: 0-18km/hr and 0-40km/hr.
Four-wheel and crab steer are standard, and the turning circle is a tight 3.2m. The front and rear linkages on the 3.3t tractor can each lift 2.0t and the standard spec includes front and rear PTOs (540/1000rpm). Hydraulic pump output is 60lit/min at a pressure of 200 bar. The first production models of the SKH 60 will be available in 2022.
The last time the Swiss manufacturer was in the news was at the 2019 Agritechnica with the electric SKE 50:
