Argo Tractors, the parent company of McCormick, Landini and Valpadana, has sanitised the production lines and offices at all six of its Italian facilities and is ready to restart activities as soon as the critical phase of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) emergency has passed.
The plants include the 132,000m² facility at Fabbrico where the Landini and McCormick 4, 5, 6 and 7 Series tractors are made (and McCormick X8).
The nearby cab plant and main offices have also been thoroughly sanitised using a chlorine-based solution. The same treatment was also given to the facilities at San Martino in Rio: the home of the Landini Rex, 2 Series, Trekker 4, Valpadana tractors and the global parts warehouse.
Argo Tractors suspended production activities at its Italian plants on March 16, 2020, and is now ready and waiting for the green light to start making new tractors again.
“We still have no indication of when this will be possible,” says Antonio Salvaterra, Argo Tractors marketing director, who adds that it will probably be a step by step process. In the meantime, spare parts, technical support, sales and customer assistance continue.
The maximum capacity of the three tractors plants is around 22,000 tractors a year.
