Amazone Teres and Cayros ploughs are now available with an integrated furrow press packer system from Dutch company VSS Machinebouw.
The mounting kit, which is even painted in Amazone colours, is compatible with both the Teres 300, Teres 300V and 3-4-furrow models of the Cayros XMS, providing they do not have hydraulic overload protection.
Running parallel to the plough, the furrow press packer automatically adapts to it to ensure uniform reconsolidation even when the working width changes. The press can be used from the very first furrow, and the integrated packer system allows the plough to work close to the edge of the field.
VSS offers packer rings in different sizes. The 710mm diameter rings are said to be particularly suitable on heavy land. Packer pressure is adjusted mechanically, although there is a hydraulic option. The fixed connection to the plough is said to offer a considerable time saving on the road, as the packer does not need to be transported separately.
VSS Machinebouw sells its packers and rollers under the brand name VSS Agro. Amazone continues to offer the Tigges trailed packers.
