Comprising two models with 5,000 or 6,000-litre stainless steel tanks, the Infinity series from Sands Agricultural Machinery takes over at the top of the Norfolk manufacturer’s line-up.
Powered by a 242hp six-cylinder Deutz Stage V engine, the hydrostatic transmission offers traction control, cruise control and eco engine management that allows operation at lower rpm where possible to minimise fuel use. The all-new chassis provides 1.2m underbelly clearance, allowing the Infinity to handle larger wheels (turning circle 7.6m).
Key changes in the cab include a new armrest that puts all operating functions at the driver’s fingertips, and the new overhead screen control system provides fingertip operation of filling, lights, machine health check management and hydraulic sliding axles (track width adjustable from 1.8-2.2m).
Selected at the touch of a foot pedal, the 4ws system can be adapted to suit the work in hand, with options including maximum turn, true tracking, speed-related switching, and spray on/off engagement.
Externally, the new spray pack features new lighter yet stronger steel booms of up to 40m, with a six-sensor boom levelling system and auto-lowering when folding up. A new 40-litre induction hopper that’s part of a new side-mounted filling station features two washing nozzles and an additional hand lance for external cleaning.
