The Danish-made Weed Terminator on display at this week’s Agromek farm machinery show uses hydraulically powered wheel sets to tug out weeds protruding above the crop.
Made by Hammerum Service Center, and suitable for both front and rear mounting, the 6.0m at the Danish show is for 12x50cm rows of sugar beet, but the 1.4t implement can also be configured to tackle weeds in other row crops.
Designed to operate at speeds from 4-8km/hr, the unit can be operated behind a 100hp tractor providing it has a hydraulic flow of 60l/min.
The 6.0m Weed Terminator costs approx. DK285,000. There is also a 3.0m model for 5x50cm rows or 4x75cm ones. This retails for around DK125,000.
