The rumours circulated at the French SIMA show recently, and while the details of the deal are limited AGCO has just announced it has reached an agreement to acquire the forage division of Lely Group. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2017. In addition to mowers, rakes and tedders, Lely’s grassland division manufactures a wide range of forage wagons, balers, bale wrappers and trailed forage harvesters. Lely’s focus for the future is on further robotic and other developments in the milk sector.
