Danish high school teacher Kurt Fredriksen recently completed a 5,200km journey from Denmark to Norway’s North Cape and back again with his 33-year-old Valmet 604 tractor. Passing through Sweden and Finland on both legs of the 40-day trip, on the way home he stopped at the Valtra factory in Suolahti, which is where his 33-year-old tractor was made.

Towing a caravan, the top speed of the classic combination was 30km/hr, but Kurt drove at a steady 25km/hr to reduce fuel consumption and in-cab noise. The well-travelled and enthusiastic Dane is now contemplating touring Iceland with his 3,700-hour and 63hp tractor. But first, he has sat down to write a book about his Norwegian adventure.
