After 20 years, Tobroco-Giant has produced its 25,000th loader, an electric G2200E X-Tra last week.
The milestone loader has been given a special paint job to mark the occasion. The new machine will join the fleet of fellow Dutch company E-Den Hartog which is a division of franchised dealer Den Hartog Bouwmaterieel and focuses on sales and maintenance of electric powered machines.
Tobroco-Giant was founded in 1996 making slurry tanker distributors among other things and built its first compact loader in 2001. Production was upscaled in 2003 when production moved from a tent in Haaren to a commercial building in Oisterwijk. The 10,000th machine was built in 2014 with the product line-up compiling, compact wheeled loaders with fixed and telescopic booms as well as telehandlers.
It has taken the company just six years to go from 10,000 machines to 25,000. Production is expected to ramp up even more as the company is investing in more factory and warehouse space. In fact it aims to more than double production in the next five years to 8,750 machines.
Tobroco-Giant has also invested in its factory in Eger, Hungary where the frames are fabricated and where the loader attachments have also been manufactured since 2013.
Speaking about the future company director, Toine Brock says “We expect that in some time half of the number of compact machines will be electric. At the moment most machines go to countries such as the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. But we are seeing stricter rules on emissions in more and more countries.
“At some point the EU will set rules for Europe and the rest of the world will have similar rules as well. Our customers specifically request electrical machines, which is why we want to have a diesel and electric version of every Giant available in the long term. I expect that by 2025, 40% of our production will consist of electric (telescopic) wheel loaders. In time, customers can expect an electric skid steer and telehandler as well.”
