Designed to work in both conventional and min-till situations, the Efecta CE12000 (12.0m) works at speeds of up to 20km/hr and has a claimed output as high as 200ha/day. The Czech drill maker also claims it is capable of direct drilling.
Sitting above the existing Omega 4.0-9.0m models, the ISObus-controlled newcomer uses the same pressurised plastic seed hoppers as the Omega, but in a larger 6,000-litre capacity format, which can be split (3800:2200) to apply seed and fertiliser at the same time.
Tractor power requirement of the 13.2t Efecta is from 350-450hp.
There are four metering systems and four distribution heads. Front equipment includes wavy discs or a levelling board. The double disc drill coulter sections attach to the frame via a parallelogram, which says the company, maintains a constant depth of seeding across the full working width. Row spacings are 12.5cm or 16.7cm. The rear section fold to the sides of the seed hoppers for a transport width to 3.0m and length of 7.8m.
The options list includes two sets of track eradicator (one to take out the tractor wheelings, the other the machine wheels), seed flow sensors and hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment.
Case IH and Bednar recently announced a strategic distribution agreement that sees the Czech manufacturer supply its range of farm machinery exclusively through the Case IH dealer network in the UK and ROI markets. It is not yet known if/when the Efecta will be added to the list.
