The new range comprises three models; the 121hp M6122, 131hp M6132 and 141hp M6142, with an additional 20hp power boost during transport.

Unveiled at this week’s Spanish FIMA farm machinery, power comes from a four-pot 6108 Stage V Kubota engine with an extended cleaning interval of the DPF from 3,000 to 6,000 hours.

Reaching its top speed of 40km/hr at 1640rpm, the eight-speed powershift transmission is new. So too is the Xpress restart function, which allows the driver to stop the tractor with the brake pedal without using the clutch.

The mechanically suspended cab and Premium Grammar seat are also new. Located on the right side of the driver, the multifunction lever armrest provides control of the shuttle, engine memory, linkage and auto shifting. There is a sun roof for front loader work and the three models come as standard with 10 LED work lights (option of six more).

Fitted with new heavy duty front and rear axles, Kubota’s Bi-speed system (standard) results in a turning radius of 4.5m. Rear lift capacity is 7.0t, the hydraulic oil flow rate is 115lit/min and all three models come with a 230-litre fuel tank.

Activated from a switch on the rear fender or directly on the armrest, the standard PTO speeds are 540/540E/1000/1000E.

“The M6002 is a completely new tractor for Kubota representing a strategically important and considerable investment, and is not an upgraded M6001 as in reality this does not exist as a separate range,” said Rob Edwards, agricultural business development manager at Kubota UK.

“The M6121 was an interim model sold in limited markets throughout Europe to access specific parts of the market that were not covered by the MGX or M7001. All things considered, the M6002 is an important model for Kubota as it gives us access to the market sector where the MGX IV range and the M7002 overlap – and where a more sophisticated and yet compact high performance tractor is required by our customers.”

Aimed mainly at dairy and mixed farms, the new tractors will be available during the second half of this year.
