Indian manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is reportedly developing a new range of tractors with Mitsubishi of Japan.
Based on the newly-developed K2 platform, and due for a release sometime next year, we understand that the plan by 2023 is to come with four variants in a range of different power outputs.
Designed for both domestic and international markets, the development work is primarily done in Japan in co-operation with Mitsubishi Agriculture Machinery, and the two companies are also believed to be working on intelligent tractors.
When M&M acquired a 33.3% stake in Mitsubishi Agricultural Machinery in 2015, it was part of a plan to jointly develop new products, share engines and transmissions, and to explore global opportunities.
