Aimed at small- to medium-size farms wanting a wider spread width are Bunning’s new Farmstar HBD rear-discharge spreaders with horizontal beater and spinning discs.
Base capacity is 8.0m³ but with extensions this can be increased to 10.2m³ — although the maximum payload stays at 8,500kg.
Almost two years in development, the £30,045 newcomer has the same body and floor construction as the TVA models but with a new spreading mechanism. The beaters have heat-treated boron flights with reversible blades, and each beater is dynamically balanced after manufacture.
The 1.0m diameter discs are fabricated from Hardox and have adjustable vanes. Standard running gear is a 13t rated single axle with 406x120mm brakes.
