New options for Pöttinger’s Impress round baler include an inclination sensor for improved performance when working on slopes.
Optionally available on F and V Pro models, the system automatically adjusts the speed of the wrapper hydraulics to the terrain to transfer bales safely.
Hydraulic knife group selection is another new option on Pro models. Operated from the cab, future versions will come without a control terminal, which says Pöttinger, results is cost savings for tractors with an ISObus control system. A choice of control terminals are available as an option. Numerous functions work automatically, such as the pick-up and tailgate.
Additionally, the new feed rotor (instead of the chopping rotor) and the 20% higher bale chamber speed further increase the capacity of the Impress 155V and 185V in dry crops, says the company. The 155V and 185V are designed for bale sizes of 0.8m to 1.55m and 0.9m to 1.85m respectively.
Last but not least, the optional bale turner rotates wrapped bales and lowers them to the ground on the flat side for transport. The company says that the main benefit of storing bales on their ends, when the film layers are vertical, is that as the pressure of the contents increases it expands the plastic for an even better seal. Also, there are more film layers on the flat side for increased weather protection.
Integrated into the wrapping platform and activated from the control terminal, the bale turner is easily engaged and deactivated.
