Revealed to the international press in July 2014, at the public debut of the 1000 Vario at the 2015 Agritechnica Fendt spoke of plans to sell a few hundred units a year. Available in limited volumes early 2016, and on general release from September 2016, the demand has exceeded expectations and the company’s four-model flagship tractor range (396hp 1038, 435hp 1042, 476hp 1046 and 517hp 1050) has already been delivered to 35 countries throughout Europe, North and South America, Africa, Australia and Asia.
Half of the 500 tractors sold so far have gone to customers in North America and Canada where the 1000 is available in both Fendt green and Challenger yellow (310 in Challenger colours via the Caterpillar dealer network and almost 200 via Fendt dealers). The other 500 were delivered to customers in Europe, Africa, Australia/New Zealand and Asia. In Europe, the 1000 Series is popular in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and the UK. Russia is another good market.
