Farm machinery and New Holland main dealer Oakes Bros has opened a new depot just outside of Coombe Bissett. Added to the company’s three existing premises in Berkshire, West Sussex and Hampshire, the new site will allow the company to expand its territory and support the farming community of Salisbury and South Wiltshire and further afield.

Further strengthening the partnership with New Holland and Kuhn Farm Machinery, the new site is manned by local staff, which includes Simon Gardner (area sales manager), Gemma Hibberd and Mike Light (parts) and Martin Horrobin and Joe Smith (service).

“We are excited about this new chapter for Oakes Bros and the opportunity to meet new customers,” said managing director Edmund Lindley. “We look forward to developing new business in Wiltshire, while strengthening and supporting our customers in the area, working together with the New Holland team.”

Founded in 1825, Oakes Bros was appointed as a Ford main tractor dealer in 1950. Over the years the firm has acquired various sites and businesses with the latest acquisitions being Watson & Haig at Andover in 1990, John Wilder (Agricultural) at Reading and Wallingford in 1996, Sussex Tractors at Horsham in 2004 and William Wheatley (Wickham) Ltd in 2005.
