New hydro-forming manufacturing techniques, which exert enormous pressure to press steel parts and tubes together, has allowed Horsch to develop a new TurboDisc seed coulter. Suitable for all seed drills with a double disc coulter, such as the Pronto, Express and Focus, key features of the new coulter design are the curved seed tube and a shallower angle of the Uniformer to reduce the drop angle of the seed. Horsch says this results in smoother and more accurate seed placement and more even seed germination. The improved design also allows impact forces to be distributed more evenly for increased reliability and wear resistance. In addition, the press wheel tyre is now softer and has a larger diameter, which prevents soil from sticking to the press wheel. The new scraper is slightly inclined and can be adjusted quickly and easily. The new seed coulter will be on display at LAMMA.
