Same Deutz-Fahr has appointed Mark Ormond as managing director to oversee its UK and Ireland operation. Joining SDF from his position as general manager for Lemken, previously Mr Ormond held senior roles at both Vaderstad and Grimme. His appointment comes in the wake of a raft of new dealer announcements by SDF UK, which is focusing its marketing efforts primarily on the Deutz-Fahr lines of tractors, telehandlers and straw-walker combines. Certain dealers, in areas where the brand is strong, will also continue to sell the range of Same models. The company is also investing in new accommodation. The new purpose-built facilities will be constructed adjacent to the existing SDF UK site at Barby, in Warwickshire. Despite growing sales volumes, a more efficient business model means the old site is now a bit too large. “By selling the largest part of it, we can reinvest the proceeds to create new offices and training facilities that will be among the most modern of their type in the UK,” says Mr Ormond. The company expects to move into the new premises in the middle of 2016.
