Most farmers are agreed that Avadex granules, in combination with other herbicides, do a good job on blackgrass. What they’re also agreed on is that granules are a right pain to apply. Mount the applicator on a drill, mount it on the rolls, trail it behind an ATV/UTV or mount a 12m applicator direct on the tractor’s rear linkage — all of these approaches have their advocates, yet they all have their problems, too. Of the four options listed, arguably the one with the best chance of achieving the greatest Avadex efficacy success is the 12m mounted applicator. But it’s the 12m bit that has been the main frustration. Growers want 24m output capability, and up until now this simply hasn’t been available.
