Amazone will extend the Catros compact disc harrow family upwards at LAMMA later this month with a new 12m trailed flagship called the Catros+ 12003-2TS. Offering the possibility to turn on the roller, this latest shallow stubble tillage tool is designed to create the ideal conditions for grass weed seeds and volunteers to germinate. All four sections are able to float independently from each other using the new ContourFrame, with hydraulic accumulators keeping each section in contact with the ground. Individually suspended via rubber blocks, each of the 510mm diameter serrated discs, which can work at depths from 5 to 15cm, use the same maintenance-free oil bath bearings used on the rest of the Catros family. Guide wheels at the front ensure contour following, and a relatively short distance between the guide wheels and rear roller means any humps and hollows are easily tackled. Following roller options include either the KW 580 wedge ring roller or the KWM 650 wedge ring roller with Matrix profile. When the going gets really tough, the working width can be reduced to 7m with the extra weight on the wings aiding penetration. Folding to 3m for road travel, the machine comes with a braking system on the transport axle.
