John Deere has entered a joint venture with US high-clearance sprayer maker Hagie Manufacturing. In the agreement, Deere acquires majority ownership of Hagie, which will continue producing sprayers at its current Clarion, Iowa location. Equipment made by the joint venture will continue to carry the Hagie brand while sales and service will be integrated into John Deere’s global distribution channel over the next 15 months. “High-clearance spraying equipment is a new market for Deere,” said John May, president, agricultural solutions and chief information officer at John Deere, who added the joint venture also allows the company to provide a broader range of sprayer options and integrate the company’s precision technology into the Hagie equipment. B
