Czech-firm Bednar Farm Machinery used last week’s TechAgro farm machinery show to unveil a pre-production version of its SwifterDisc XE 14000. Joining the currently available 10 and 12m models, when pulled behind a 500hp tractor the new 15-tonne heavy flagship makes quick work of stubbles at speeds up to 15km/hr. The Czech manufacturer is not yet ready to disclose prices, but is prepared to reveal it is developing an even wider 16m-wide SwifterDisc, which like the rest of the range, will fold to 3m. Bednar claims to make 1,200 to 1,500 cultivators and drills a year. The home market takes about a third of these volumes, and the most important exports markets are Germany, France, Poland, Ukraine and Russia. In the UK, Bednar importer Knight Farm Machinery has sold a 10m Swifterdisc XE. B
