German manufacturer Kotte has signed a letter of intent to acquire the production rights for Kaweco slurry tankers.
The news follows the recent announcement by Royal Reesink that the operations of its Dutch subsidiary Reesink Production (mainly Kaweco brand) will be discontinued at the end of this month (see link at bottom). Kotte Landtechnik will also handle service and spare parts for current and future Kaweco machines. To this end, Kotte is planning to maintain some of the staff of the previous Kaweco team. “The Kaweco slurry technology can complement our existing product portfolio in the professional sector very well,” says joint managing director Stefan Kotte.
KAWECO BRANDING FOR KOTTE SLURRY TANKERS
In addition, Kotte and Dutch Claas importer Kamps de Wild have signed a letter of intent for the exclusive distribution of Kotte (Garant) slurry tankers with Kaweco branding in the Netherlands, giving Kotte access to the Dutch market.
“The takeover of the production rights and distribution via Kamps de Wild, as well as the establishment of a Dutch sister company to Kotte Landtechnik, is the next step in our strategy to become the European market leader in slurry technology,” comments recently appointed managing director Hendrik Schuchardt.
He adds that this is a milestone for the company in that it is the first time that investments are being made outside of the home base in Rieste, Germany. “We are now looking for a new location in the Netherlands in order to be able to ensure the supply of spare parts and service as soon as possible. The current production halls in Hengelo (NL) are expected to be vacated by the end of 2024.”
Kotte has no interest in Kaweco’s mini articulated wheel loaders, and it is not yet known if there is a future for the Radium silage trailers made by Kaweco. Source: profi.de
