Vogelsang has developed a lighter version of the BlackBird trailing shoe applicator. The new unit is designed for fitting behind smaller slurry tankers.
Called the BlackBird Single, and available in widths of 7.5m, 9.0m, 10.5m and 12m, the widest model tips the scales at just over 1.0t. This light weight is due to the use of a special plastic for the runners, the narrower design of linkage and a single distributor.
Vogelsang says that the lighter design not only helps to reduce ground damage but is also easier to handle. Fitting to most slurry tankers, integrated slope compensation adapts to ground contours.
Folding to a transport width is 2.55m (transport lock standard), the new slurry applicator will debut at the EuroTier livestock machinery show in Hanover (November 12-15).
