Bednar has added two ranges of knife rollers to its portfolio for 2025; the Speed Chop SC-F and Duracut TE. Both are designed to knock down cover crops and cut up post-harvest residues.

Available in working widths of 7.5m and 12.5m, the Duracut TE is a heavy-duty trailed implement with 940mm diameter rollers for processing tough crop residues, such as maize and sunflower stubbles.

The Czech manufacturer says that the V-shaped blade arrangement significantly increases the cutting effect in even the most challenging conditions. The rollers can be ballasted to a maximum of 1.24t/m, and suspending all five rollers individually on the frame allows them to follow ground contours.

The two outer units fold towards the front of the frame for transport. Tyre size is 700/40-225, and both implements fold to a width and height of 3.0m and 4.0m, respectively.

If 7.5m and 12.5m is a tad too wide, and you are seeking a bit more flexibility, then the Speed Chop offers increased versatility in that it can be front or rear mounted, either solo or in combination with a seed drill or cultivator.

Available in working widths of 3.0m, 4.0m and 6.0m, the Speed Chop SC-F has two rows of 460mm diameter knife rollers. The two rollers are said to provide good results at speed even in heavy crops. Additional weight can be added and replacing individual blades is said to be quick and easy.
