Suitable for fitting to new tractors or retrofitting to older models, the latest LED work light from UTV Products combines the classic look of a halogen light with the performance of a LED.

The nights are drawing in fast for farms and contractors struggling to complete the autumn workload. UTV Products is looking to brighten nighttime fieldwork up a bit with the UTV3012; a square 45w LED (3,400 lumens) work light.

Compatible with a wide range of tractors, including Fendt, Case IH, Massey Ferguson, JCB and New Holland, the plug-and-play unit, which retrofits in place of an existing work light, was developed following requests from the market.

“Customers kept coming to us asking for a light that kept the original halogen look but had the benefits of an LED,” says Jack Campbell, engineering manager at UTV Products. “It was clear to us that there was a demand for a square work light that maintained the OEM appearance of their machine but that was also powerful.”

Unlike other LED work lights in the current UTV range, which have a lens built to enhance light projection, the 3012 differs in that the request from the market was for a frosted lens look.

The company reckons that frosted lenses can impact the overall performance of an LED light. To compensate, additional focus was placed on optimising the PCB and beam pattern in relation to the lens. After months of tests and tweaks, the technique is now ready for a market launch.

The UTV3012 comes with an aluminium housing and stainless-steel bracket and costs £69 (ex VAT) per unit. It is available directly from the UTV Products or one of its dealers (the company is currently working on adding a dealer locator to its website).
