John Deere headed new tractor registrations in a dozen European markets last year, including the main one of France.
The company registered 7,179 units and a leading 20.1% share of the 35,665-strong French market, and also topped the charts in Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and Spain.
In Germany, Europe’s second largest tractor market, John Deere secured second spot with 5,899 and 19.4% of the 30,345 units. Despite a 17.2% fall in registrations from 2,011 units in 2022 to 1,666 in 2023, John Deere also took second place in Italy, Europe’s third largest market.
New Holland headed the tractor markets in Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovenia, and while fellow CNH stable mate Steyr retained pole position in Austria with 833 units (874 in 2022).
Fendt headed the chart in Switzerland, and also enjoyed pole position of the 30,345-strong German market where it registered 15.4% more new tractors (6,140 in 2023/5,319 in 2022) and increased its market share from 17.5% to 20.2%.
Valtra enjoyed a leading 42.6% share of the 1,540 Finnish market with 656 units. The other two top 10 spots were secured by Solis (Portugal) and Foton (Serbia).
