A pressure washer is an indispensable tool around barns, the farmyard and especially when it comes to cleaning equipment. So, it’s no wonder that resourceful farmers have made their pressure washers even more practical by adding some clever modifications.
And it’s not just the washer itself that’s been the focus of our farm modifiers; the washdown area also has potential for improvement — for machines, people and accessories. Whether permanently in place compressed air hoses or an insulated hut for the pressure washer, the ideas are diverse. Replace the Gun & Stay Dry
This profi reader found it annoying having to turn off the pressure washer and water feed before he could swap over guns. So, he fitted an adapter comprising a 1⁄2in screw-in nipple, a hand screw connection and a ball valve between the hose and the pressure cleaner. The extra parts cost €37 and save him having to stop and restart the steam cleaner.
Tractor Wash Stand
Using a similar design principle to the familiar TrakJak, two readers decided to build their own version — the tractor’s lift arms lift the jack, keeping the back axle off the floor. After removing the rear wheels, the four-wheel-drive tractor can travel on the two small wheels. As always, extreme caution is required when copying a patented design… for so many reasons.
