Dewulf has announced the second generation of its 4-row top lifting harvester, the ZKIV(SE). This updated carrot harvester has improved cleaning, a new elevator with hydraulic extension, and the ability to harvest narrow rows – closer than 400mm apart.
The cutter set has also been upgraded and is said to combine unparalleled speed while handling the crop gently. The new set is less prone to wear because it is made from a new type of highly wear-resistant material. The cutters are also reversible to extend their life.
Three cleaning systems are offered – a Flexstar module is available to ensure maximum cleaning capacity, this combines a star module with a sieving belt. If less cleaning is needed the sieving belt along with a hedgehog belt can be used. Or crops can be discharged directly via the elevator if no cleaning is required.
With all cleaning systems the crop ends up on a 1.5m wide elevator, hydraulically extendable for accurate unloading.
A new sensor system detects belts which have fallen off, warns the driver and stops the top lifting element.
The ZKIV is powered by a 450hp Scania 6-cylinder engine and has an X11 Claas cab.
