The Golem 540 from SMS is claimed to be the largest and heaviest grassland roller on the market. Working width is 4.5m and weight up to 11 tonnes. The smaller Golem 300 is 3.0m wide and weighs up to 4.5 tonnes.
The 540 has a three-part hydraulically folded frame with partially-overlapping, 1.95m rollers. It weighs 5.5 tons or up to 11 tons when the rollers are filled with water.
For transport, wheels are lowered and the wings raised, possible even if fully filled with water. Transport width is 2.56m. The Golem 300 does not fold for transport but wheels are lowered.
Several versions of smooth roller are offered with 10mm, 14mm or 20mm wall thicknesses. A spiked roller, with 170mm tines, is available for aerating grassland.
The 300 model can be towed by a 60hp tractor while the larger model needs 110hp. A pneumatically controlled drum brake is fitted to the centre roller for use on hilly terrain.
A sowing attachment with hopper capacities from 120 litres to 300 litres is also offered. Hydraulically operated, double row harrows, with fixed skid or flexible skids, and several types of blade, is also available.
