The CTS1600 round bale chaser enables one operator to load 16 netted or wrapped round bales in around eight minutes as we found out with our Driving Impression in the October issue of profi.
The hydraulically operated bale squeeze lifts and rotates the bales onto the trailer, with just one joystick click from the operator.
“The new chaser will load itself automatically, by stacking two bales side by side at double height, before moving the stack down its length on floor rollers,” says Samco director, Matthew Shine.
The 16 bales are secured by the caged sides, which move inwards to hold them in place. Built-in sensors fine-tune the position of the sides to the size of bales, while gripping bars along the top and rear prevent any movement during transport. A Danfoss load sensing hydraulic system controls the main functions.
The trailer can simultaneously offload eight bales (in four stacks of two on their ends). It is then moved forward to unload the remaining eight bales. The 7.3m long chaser runs on a brace of air-brake equipped ADR axles. There is a choice of three 710/40 R22.5 tyres and a steering axle is available as an option.
The CTS1600 will make its debut at LAMMA when the UK machinery show returns in January.
