Kuhn has added a new lighter weight and compact version to its Venta pneumatic drill range. Available initially as the 3.0m Venta 320, this new 100 series machine is designed for tractors in the 120-150hp range.
When mounted on the frame of Kuhn’s HRB 302/303 or HR 304 power harrows, seeding depth is independent of the working depth of the power harrow. The seed bar comprises 20 or 24 rows of single disc elements, each with an internal cast iron coulter positioned at the front of the disc. Seeding unit pressure of up to 32kg can be applied.
The blower is driven by the tractor hydraulics, and the improved fan design helps to lower the oil requirement from 35lit/min to 26lit/min. Electrically powered volumetric metering allows the 320 to cope with a wide range of seed sizes and application rates from 1.5 to 430kg/ha.
The QS2 control unit allows seed rates to be adjusted from the cab and the loading platform is said to provide safe access to the hopper from the side. The optional extension increases the capacity of the standard 850-litre hopper to 1,150 litres.
A covering harrow with universal tines is fitted as standard, and the basic model comes with integral lighting and signalling kit.
