The Forterra and Crystal model ranges were equipped with Stage V engine in 2020. New versions of the Proxima are in development, but for now the attention is on the first Stage V version of the Major CL80.
The new block, a 75hp four-pot 2.9-litre turbocharged Deutz TCD, complies with the latest emissions using a combination of a DPF, EGR and DOC.
The block is mated to a fully synchronized four-gear (12Fx12R) transmission with three-stage reduction and mechanical reverser. The external hydraulic supply is 50l/min.
The cab is available with a hard roof or FOPS with a sunroof. The options list includes air-conditioning and mechanical suspended seat with arm rests and head support, both of which come as standard with the optional Plus cab.
The steering column in the Plus version is tiltable and height adjustable and the higher spec includes non-slip foot pedals and improved differential lock control. The rear linkage (2.8t lift capacity) and PTO (540/1000) control switches are identical to those found in more powerful Zetor tractors.
If you are prone to losing keys, then you might like to know that the same key is now used to start the engine and lock the cab. Inside the cab, there are universal slots to mount equipment displays, holes for equipment cables or three-pin socket for equipment power supply. Plus cab options include pneumatic suspension and passenger seat.
The cab is prepared for joystick control and additional roof lights for front loader work. Options include a front linkage and PTO, safety beacons and a range of different tyre sizes. The first of the new CL80s arrived in the UK earlier this week.
