First time out seen working in UK fields, four tractors from Lindner’s line-up were providing the power on Malone’s demo plot.  The Austrian tractor firm’s range spans 70hp–135hp with standard two-wheel-steer versions as well as specialist four-wheel-steer variants designed especially for Alpine conditions. With many features shared with the defunct Steyr range (many of the company’s designers are ex-St. Valentine employees), Lindner is selling in small numbers into Ireland, and the company is also now looking to set up a UK dealer network. Price-wise the tractors are ticketed to be comparable with MF and NH, coming in cheaper than top-spec Deeres.  Irish firm Malone has been making forage wagons and mowers for several years, and for the past couple of seasons has had its own home-built tedders on offer, too. The tedders use a standard Comer gearbox and rotor hubs, but also incorporate some clever features including hydraulically damped steering and the ability to run at an offset angle to avoid flinging grass into the hedge on headland passes. The 8.4m, six-star version comes in at £9,250, while the four-rotor 5.7m model lists at £6,500.
