Described as ideal for precision drilling row crops such as maize, sugar beet and oilseed rape, the mounted eight-row folding Precea 6000 joins the 3.0m (4-row) and 4.5m telescopic (6-row) models launched at the 2019 Agritechnica.

The singling system is based on overpressure. The seed hopper and the entire metering unit are pressurised by a blower fan. Seed from the hopper is fed to a singling disc, which then hermetically seals the metering unit as the seed is pressed onto the holes in the disc.

An optical sensor closely monitors the singling process and reports any misses or doubles to the tractor terminal. The stripper system can then be adjusted; manually or automatically.

The folding 6.0m frame means that up to 12 singling units can be mounted, allowing the operator to alter the spacing from 45cm to 80cm when changing crops.

In combination with the electric drive, the Precea is capable of singling at speeds of up to 15km/hr (up to 12km/hr with mechanical singling drive). Options include tractor wheel mark eradicators and a loading board to aid fertiliser filling.

In future, the rigid Precea 6000 and the folding Precea 6000-2 will be available. Both models can be supplied either without under-root fertiliser application, fertiliser via the FTender front tank, or with a rear fertiliser tank.

The first eight-row machines are due in the UK in March ready for the maize season and the company plans to demonstrate a model this spring.
