Three Case IH tractors can be found in our list of highest prices paid for a used model at Cheffins monthly Cambridge machinery auction this year. A couple of Deeres and Masseys also appear in the top 10, but the highest price was paid for an anniversary edition JCB Fastrac.
The 25-year limited edition Fastrac 4220 was produced in 2016 to commemorate the tractor’s 25th anniversary. All 25 tractors were finished in metallic silver with a black grille.
First: Number 13 of the 25, with 6,207 hours on the clock, sold for £75,000 in the October sale.
The anniversary spec also included a Union flag decal on either side of the front portion of the engine hood, an individual tractor’s number out of the 25 on the side of the engine hood close to the cab and ‘25th Anniversary’ decals on the doors.
The second highest price paid was for this Massey Ferguson 7724 Dyna VT (Efficient package) c/w front linkage/PTO, 650/65R42 and 540/65R30 tyres. The 2,950-hour tractor sold for £57,500 in the November sale.
The third highest price was this Case IH Puma 185CVX c/w front linkage & pto. The 1,182-hour tractor sold for the £69,000 in the October sale.
Fourth: We don’t know much about this one, but the hammer came down on this Deutz-Fahr 6165 at £68,000 in the December sale.
Fifth: This 4,250-hour Case IH Magnum 340RT CVX (c/w suspension axle, five rear remotes, 30in (760mm) tracks, made £68,000 in the March sale.
Sixth: This is the second JCB 4220 silver anniversary Fastrac (10 of 25) in the top 10 list. Complete with front linkage and 600/70R30 tyres, it sold for £65,600 in the December sale.
Seventh: This Case IH Puma 165 fetched £60,000 in the December sale.
Eighth: This 2,048-hour Massey Ferguson 7722S D6 (Efficient package) c/w air and hydraulic brakes and front linkage, sold for £59,500 in the September sale.
Ninth: The highest price paid for a John Deere tractor in the monthly sales was £56,000 for this 2016 6215R and 663R front loader in June. The 50km/hr came with a CommandArm, TLS and cab suspension and air brakes.
Tenth: Entered into the November sale, this 6,096-hour 2016 John Deere 6215R (ultimate edition) c/w AutoPowr, CommandArm, 50km/hr, TLS and cab suspension, air brakes, front linkage/pto, sold for £55,000.
An average of 350-400 tractors are entered for each monthly sale at the Sutton venue. There were 11 this year (April was cancelled due to Covid).
