Keith Rennie Machinery’s new Bredal F4W mounted fertiliser spreader features ISObus control for automatic setting of application rate and spread width up to 40m.
Fertiliser from the 1,500-4,000-litre capacity (powder paint or stainless steel) hopper is metered by a pair of 200mm wide feed belts to the two 800mm diameter discs. Driven from the tractor pto through a simple twin V-belt drive system, or by an individual hydraulic motor for each disc, a reduction gear system has been fitted to one spinning disc for headlands.
Operating a single lever reduces the speed of the disc by half to produce an adjustable, sharp cut-off, without affecting the spread pattern into the field. If hydraulic driven discs are chosen, then the left or right disc can be selected from the cab.
The ISO display allows the operator to select application rate, spread width and material. It also enables rates to be adjusted on the move and provides warning functions for floor belt drive, disc speed, etc. The ISObus system is GPS variable rate ready to follow application maps.
Headland section control is standard. This automatically switches on or off up to 12 sections when approaching or leaving the headland. The spread can be adjusted to left or right to match irregular shaped fields or angled headlands.
Standard specification on the F4W includes a hopper access ladder, rear LED lighting and weigh cells. The integral tilt sensor in the latter provides a continuous display of the weight of fertiliser in the hopper, even when working on slopes.
Optional equipment includes hopper extensions, manual or hydraulic opening hopper cover, hydraulically operated headland system and micro-dosing system for slug pellets or cover crops.
Prices start at £23,450 and the Bredal F4W will be available for Spring 2021 delivery.
